About 

My name is Jacob Coates and I am the Founder & Marketing Specialist for 1707 Creative. I received my Diploma in Business Marketing from Humber College in 2018 and have been working to build my own business since. For most of 2018 and 2019 I worked a full time job at a golf course from 6am-2pm, six days a week. After my shift was done, I’d spend the remainder of the day doing client work or working on 1707 related materials. Part way through 2019, I was able to leave my golf course job and go full time doing what I truly love; helping small businesses grow through 1707 Creative.

Since I’ve started, we’ve helped a wide range of businesses. Some of our clients include: food trucks, restaurants, automotive upfitters, doctors, internet providers and even a fireworks company. The list extends beyond what’s mentioned, and we hope to continue to grow and diversify this client base moving forward. I take pride in knowing that our marketing efforts are helping these small business owners succeed. As a business owner myself, I know how dedicated and hardworking small business owners can be. Because of this, I put that hard work and dedication into everything I do.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outdoors. I am an animal lover and enjoy finding clarity and peace in nature. Because of this, my main hobbies include hiking, camping, traveling and golf. I’m an openminded person that loves deep conversation and I’m constantly striving to learn more everyday. I believe we all have a lot to gain from listening to the experiences of others and that we should all make an effort to expand our horizons by trying new things.
