Reflecting – Business Growth of 1707 Creative

Written by 1707 Creative Founder Jacob Coates

Mechdyne Employee review of 1707 Creative

It’s been almost 2 years now since I had this idea to start 1707 Creative. At this time in 2018, I was finishing up what would later be my last full time season as a golf course maintenance employee. The quiet, crisp early mornings at St. George’s Golf and Country club were beginning to provide me clarity about what type of career I wanted. Nearly two years later, I’m operating my own business as my full-time profession. For this blog, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what the first two years of 1707 Creative have looked like. For more about the beginnings of 1707, check out this blog from last year.

A Rewarding Experience

The main takeaway I’ve had from this whole experience so far is how rewarding this business can be. The positive feedback I’ve received from my clients, colleagues, friends, and family has been overwhelming. It’s also just been so exciting to see the difference that 1707 Creative is making in the lives of the small business owners. We’ve helped multiple businesses achieve record sales as a result of our marketing plans. We’ve helped to successfully transition businesses online so that they could remain profitable during the hardships created by COVID-19. Further, we’ve been able to provide affordable marketing solutions to businesses who previously wouldn’t have had access.

The audio file below is recording of a voicemail that a 1707 Creative left on my phone. We had just done a big Canada Day marketing campaign for his fireworks business and this was the message he left at the end of the weekend. Fair warning, he curses a couple times…

We’ve also received multiple positive reviews on our Google Business Page like the one below:

Messages like this make everything worth it. I got into this business to help grow small businesses, and to see your efforts come to fruition is just an incredible feeling.

Here are some of the things we’ve accomplished since starting up:

    • And more!
  • Worked with many different business types including:
    • Restaurants & Catering
    • Medical Professionals

  • So much more!

The fact that we’ve been able to do all of these things in such a short period of time is a very rewarding feeling. It’s also very humbling, as there is still so much I’d like to accomplish. Still, when I think about all of the doubts I had about starting my own business, this reflection has really helped to alleviate a lot of that doubt. Things are trending the right way and I feel I’ve been rewarded for my decisions that have been made to this point.

Conclusion

It felt very good to take this time to reflect, and I hope that when I write my next reflection blog things are going even better! I hope you enjoyed reading, and that this blog helped provide some positivity to any entrepreneurs or small business owners that are having doubts about their business growth.
